Motorcycle Camping Checklist

A part of your planning

Your Motorcycle Camping Checklist will make sure you take everything needed for your trip.  This would not be a good time to find out you left something behind, such as your sleeping bag or a first aid kit.  Therefore, even if you think you will remember, get out a piece of paper and a pencil and start planning.  Making the list will assure that you remember everything you 'had' planned on taking.

Motorcycle Camping Checklist includes...

Taking what is needed will also allow your budget to included higher quality items.  If you are traveling in a group check with the others.  Items that will be used by the group may be divided up and allow you to take more.

The checklist will consist of several pages:

    Camping Equipment Checklist
    Camping Supply List
    Camping Food List
    Camping Packing List

Since you are motorcycle camping, your needs will be a little different from others.  You will decide if you need a tent or pull a trailer, but also you will need camping equipment, supplies, food, and clothing.  Do some research, you may find you can purchase some items specifically designed for motorcycle camping.

Storage will be limited, so the items you take will need to be carefully considered.  Small, compact items that will fit in your saddlebags or on your trailer.  Prestaging your items before your trip will be very help.

Below are two links that will give you an idea of some of the items on two of these checklists.

Camping Food List

This will be a list that you determine what is included.  There will be some basic food items that you will take on every trip and other just for the trip you are about to take.  Camp Cooking page goes into more detail in developing your Camping Food List, which includes Camping Menu and Recipes.  Making your list will assure that you have all of the food with you and can be part of your packing list.

Other lists that may be useful are Clothing List, Equipment List, and Activity List.  These lists will be ever changing depending on where you are going, how long you will be gone, and what time of year.  To easily create these list, if you are computer suave is to create a spreadsheet for each of them and edit them when planning each trip.  When you have finalized your motorcycle camping checklist, you should be able to pack and go in as little time as one hour.
