Camping Songs

- a great way to end the day

Camping Songs

Who doesn't like Camping Songs? You have probably sung one or two in your lifetime. If you have ever gone to summer camp or were in Boy Scouts or Girls Scouts you sang them.  This is a fun activity around the campfire after a long day of outdoor adventure and it is time to slow down and relax.  Children will especially like this activity around the campfire and will help settle them down before going to bed.

They can be just singing or require singing and some body movement or even dancing.   A good singing voice is not required, and who cares you will be around friends and/or family.  You are there to have fun, not audition, go for it.

Campfire Songs

If someone in your group has a guitar or banjo is even better.  All the melodies the campfire songs are easy to play as well as sing.  If you have children, they can make homemade instruments such as drums or maracas as an activity during the day to play during the songs.

If the song requires movement, the kids will get a kick out of singing the song as well as watching mom and dad do the movements.  Yes, mom and dad you can be involved you're not too old, you may just surprise the kids.

If you have forgotten or are not sure of the words to some of them listed above, they are easy to find on the internet.  Simply print them out and bring them along or build a fire in the backyard and learn them there.   Why not make up a new verse or substitute your own words. That would make the song even more fun to sing.

No matter what you will all have a good time and bring home another memory  to share.
